Course Information
Expectations:
Assignments will be posted within Canvas each day. Class time will be dedicated to applied learning activities and higher-order thinking tasks such as case studies, discussions, lab work, field work, and project-based learning. We do labs and activities on a regular basis that require access to the internet, so you will need to bring a laptop or tablet to class each day.
Absences/Make-Up Work:
Work assigned in advance of absences, including tests, are due upon the student’s return to school unless extenuating circumstances and a make up plan have been communicated. There will be a late penalty of 10% for each day an assignment is turned in late, up to 50% for 5 days late. Once a due date passes, an alternate/adjusted assignment may be given that assesses the same objectives.
Grading:
Total Points will be used in determining quarter grades. Assignments are usually worth the following range of points:
- Tests and Projects: 50-100 points
- Quizzes and Lab work: 10-50 points
Points are dependent on the depth of content and skills.
