Confidence in Experimental Data

lab.pngReaction Time Test

Test your reaction time: www.arealme.com/reaction-test/en/

Record your reaction time on your class's tab of this spreadsheet

Read.pngStandard Deviation & Standard Error

Use this handout to learn about standard deviation and standard error. You will not have to calculate these by hand, but you should understand them at a conceptual level.

analyze.pngAnalyze the Reaction Time Test

Make a copy of the class data. Use the spreadsheet to calculate averages, standard deviations, standard errors of the mean, and 2x standard error for your graphs.

Create a bar graph to compare the reaction times by gender. Include titles, a key, and error bars.

Check your answers with your table. If you're confident in your calculation setup and graphing skills, calculate the standard deviation, standard error, and 2x error for your inquiry lab data. Graph your data, including error bars.
