4th pd Middle Ages In-Class Essay

Here is what you need to do today:

1) Create a claim to address this question: "On a scale of 0-5, how appropriate is the nickname 'Dark Ages" for the time period 500-1200 CE in Europe?" (A 0=not at all appropriate; a 5=completely appropriate.)

2) Write an essay that contains:

• An introduction which includes your claim (10 points)
• Body paragraphs containing evidence from at least three separate sources on your chart. (Make sure you identify the sources from which the evidence comes.) The evidence should explain and support the claim you made. The paragraphs should be cohesive. (30 points)
• A conclusion to wrap up your essay (5 points)
• Academic tone, diction, and technical writing (5 points)

Important:

• Do NOT leave Canvas at any point until your essay has been turned in. If you do, this is cheating. 
• Do not have any other tabs open except Canvas until your essay has been turned in.
• Your essay is due when the bell to end class rings.
