Students have been exploring the plot structure and elements of the author’s craft, so this activity gives them a chance for students to continue adding to their understanding of the book. Teachers should spend time revisiting the following:

How does Golding create mystery, tension, and surprise in these chapters?
How have the characters evolved?
How has Golding used specific language in parts of chapters 10-11 to have an impact on the reader? (Teachers may choose a couple of close reading passages)

Teachers and PLTs will need to choose how they will facilitate this lesson. Will students discuss? Do a chart? Chalk Talk?
